Hi! My name is Judy Dodge. I have been teaching at Riverview West Side School of Excellence for five years. I teach English as a Second Language. (ESL)

I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a double major in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. Prior to teaching at Riverview, I taught kindergarten, preschool, 4th/5th grade and directed a day-care center. I completed the course work for my ESL license at the University of Minnesota. Teaching second language children in St. Paul has been one of the great joys of my life.

My husband, Chuck, and I have a married son and daughter-in-law, three teenage foster children and one black and bronze miniature dachshund grand-puppy. We are expecting our first grandchild any day now. Our family enjoys camping, church activities, playing frizbee and spending time together. My favorite past times are music, reading, biking, quilting and gardening.

One of the things I enjoy most about teaching at this level is watching the elation of children as they learn to read, write, and gain command of the English language. It is thrilling to watch as students use their literacy skills to improve their learning in every other content area.

I am looking forward to another great year here at Riverview!
